Get Involved

At Summit-University Planning Council, we rely on neighbors and volunteers to get much of our work done. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Help us pass out fliers. For important community meetings, events, and special programs, we need help spreading the word.
  • Join a group. We need people to serve on our Communications and Outreach Committee, to write for the newsletters, provide content for the web, and provide up-to-date news on our Facebook page. The Community Improvement and Safety Committee provides support to block clubs, plans events and activities, and works on public safety. The Neighborhood Development Committee works on land use and development, creating a vision for the neighborhood’s growth, and holds community meetings about zoning issues.
  • Start a community project. We’ve provided support for several neighbor-led initiatives like a street cleanup, community gardens, and a waste reduction program.
  • Staff the office. Our work in the community often takes us out of the office during the day. We could use your help to make sure people have someone to talk to when they stop in or call.
  • Consider becoming a board member. Your experience and your vision is important to us. We need community members to set goals and priorities for the work we do.
